We are Jim, Christie and Marley Jacobus! And we live, travel, play and work full time from our Grand Design Momentum 399TH! We began our full time RV living in June of 2020 and spend about 1/3 of our time in South Texas to be near Christie’s family, 1/3 of our time in the Dallas Fort Worth area near our son Jason, daughter in law Caitlyn and our grandkids Lokland, Beckham and Decker and 1/3 of our time traveling around and experiencing this amazing country we are all privileged to live in!
Christie’s Jacobus … where do you begin to tell folks about this gal? She began her full time RV life after retiring from the Memorial Hermann Hospital system after 35 years of service! During her 35 years as a nurse she worked on the orthopedics floor, ICU and day surgery, was a charge nurse and manager of her day surgery unit, worked in Human Resources as a recruiter and then spent the last 15 years in hospital education! Her designations, accreditations and certifications are too numerous to list and she holds a master’s degree in Nursing!
As if that weren’t enough, she also has a master’s degree in education and that has allowed her to become a Licensed Professional Counselor LPC, a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor LPCS and pursue her love of pre-married and marriage counseling!
Currently, as Team Jacobus travels, Christie is an online counselor with two of America’s top online platforms – Better Help and TalkSpace where she carries a counseling load of 50 to 75 clients at a time.
Jim Jacobus … is a professional speaker, trainer, consultant and executive level coach to America’s top sales organizations and has been in this business for almost 30 years. His work with sales organizations has allowed him Christie and Jason to travel the world through the years to the extent that he has visited all 50 states, Canada, Mexico, Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand as well as South America! Travel is in the Jacobus’ blood for sure!
People ask Jim all of the time are you retired or when are you going to retire? His answer is consistently the same … me retire, from what to what? Jim so loves what he does that he doesn’t consider it work. He lives by the mantra that “the line between work and play should be so thin that no one ever really knows which one he is doing. He is still very active in each of his areas of business!
Team Jacobus … together Jim and Christie are passionate about helping others build a more vibrant healthy marriage and pursue this love by rolling out a podcast – Your Marriage Matters – teaching at marriage conferences, doing webinars as well as counseling, coaching and mentoring couples that want to experience everything from their relationship they dreamed of when they said “I do”!
Marley Jacobus … the Facebook post said “yellow lab, 2 years old, chipped, fixed and obedience trained”! Christie showed it to me sort of half-heartedly because I had no desire to own another dog after the heartbreaking loss of our previous lab Joy. I looked at the picture and this guy was gorgeous so the next day we went to look at him.
His owner brought him out on a leash, and he was so energetic. I took the leash and said heal and we walked about 20 yards away with him right by my said. I stopped and said sit, and he sat. I said down and he laid down. Then I said “let’s go home”!
This handsome, energetic, wild man of a yellow lab is an amazing animal that travels extraordinarily well for being th 100 lb rock solid athlete he is. He loves to retrieve and will do so until you are no longer able to throw his bumper or ball for him. He is well trained and obedient when told what to do. And he is an incredibly loving dog that never meets a stranger and is a celebrity at every campground we stay! We jokingly say that if he didn’t shed so darn much, he would be a perfect dog!
